Innovative Early-Learning Centers (IELC)
Laying the Foundation for Lifelong Learning in Underserved Communities
About the Program
Our Innovative Early-Learning Centers (IELC) are designed to provide quality pre-primary education to children aged 3–5 years from urban slums in Nagpur and Kamptee. These children often lack access to structured learning, a safe environment, or basic stimulation at home.
Since 2009, TBMSG has been running these centers as safe, joyful spaces that support cognitive, emotional, and social development during the most critical stage of a child’s growth.
Why Early Learning Matters
The early years are crucial for brain development. For children from disadvantaged backgrounds, IELCs offer:
- A structured daily routine
- Early literacy and numeracy
- Exposure to art, music, and storytelling
- Improved hygiene and nutrition awareness
- Social skills through play and interaction
By addressing the educational gap at the grassroots, we help prevent future school dropouts and build confidence from the very start.
What Makes Our Centers ‘Innovative’
✅ Child-Centered Curriculum
Based on activity-based learning and adapted to local language and culture.
✅ Holistic Development Focus
We don’t just prepare children academically—we help shape well-rounded individuals.
✅ Community-Driven
Teachers are recruited from the community and trained to understand the unique needs of local children.
✅ Health & Nutrition Awareness
We organize regular health camps, hygiene awareness days, and link children to healthcare services.
