Adolescent Girls Program
Building Confidence, Knowledge & Safety for the Next Generation of Women
Empowering Girls Through Life Skills
The Adolescent Girls Program is a flagship initiative under TBMSG Nagpur’s Women’s Social Project (WSP), aimed at empowering girls aged 12 to 18 from underprivileged communities in Nagpur and Kamptee.
These formative years are critical for shaping a girl’s identity, values, and future. Yet, many adolescent girls in slum areas face limited access to health education, personal safety awareness, and emotional support.
Our program provides a safe space for learning, sharing, and growing—equipping girls with essential life skills that help them thrive in their communities and beyond.
Our Objectives
- Educate girls on reproductive health and menstrual hygiene
- Promote gender equality, digital safety, and awareness of legal rights
- Build self-esteem, leadership, and emotional resilience
- Provide access to health services and support systems
- Break the cycle of silence around taboo subjects

Our Impact (This Year)

- Formed 6 active girl groups (minimum 15 members each)
- 90% of girls reported increased confidence in discussing personal and health issues
- Many now act as peer educators in their communities
Why This Program Is Needed
Many adolescent girls grow up in environments where reproductive health is taboo, gender roles are restrictive, and internet use is unsafe. Parents often lack the knowledge—or the comfort—to provide guidance. Our program bridges that gap with empathy, education, and empowerment.
“Now I understand my body, my rights, and my future. I want to become a social worker and help other girls like me.”
– 16-year-old program participant
